Plenty of Myrtle Beach hotels will let your dog stay. Fewer are built around the idea. Ocean Park Resort keeps dog-friendly units on designated floors, hands out a welcome gift at check-in, maintains an on-site potty area, and has a groomer and day care on the ground level. Your dog is a guest here, not an exception we’re making.

Dog-friendly rooms and suites
Ocean Park is a condo resort, so every unit is individually owned and the decor varies. What doesn’t vary is the layout of each room type. All five types below include pet-friendly units, and all five sit on our oceanfront block at 1905 S. Ocean Blvd. on the quieter south end of Myrtle Beach.
Standard Room — Partial Ocean View
Sleeps 4. Two full beds, one bathroom, private balcony, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, free WiFi. The simplest option, and the easiest on the budget for a short stay with one dog.
Oceanfront King Efficiency
Sleeps 2. One king bed, one bathroom, a complete kitchen and a private balcony facing the Atlantic. Our most popular room for couples traveling with a dog — the kitchen means you can eat in on the nights nobody feels like finding a patio table.
Oceanfront Queen Efficiency
Sleeps 4. Two queen beds, one bathroom, complete kitchen, private patio, oceanfront view. A small family plus a dog fits here comfortably.
Oceanfront 1-Bedroom Queen Suite
Sleeps 6. Two queen beds, one bathroom, complete kitchen, a separate sitting area and a private oceanfront balcony. The separate living space matters more than people expect when there’s a dog in the room — somebody can be up early with the leash without waking the whole family.
Pool View 1-Bedroom King Suite Deluxe
Sleeps 4. One king bed plus a queen sleeper sofa, a bathroom with a whirlpool tub, complete kitchen, sitting area, private balcony, and a washer and dryer in the unit. If your dog swims, the in-room laundry earns its keep by day two.

The pet policy, in short
- Two dogs per room, 40 lbs. or under each.
- $25 per day, per pet, collected by the front desk at check-in.
- Advance notice is required. Tell us your dog is coming when you book — pet-friendly inventory is limited to designated floors.
- Dogs only. Cats, birds and reptiles are not permitted. ADA service animals are always welcome.
- Leashed in public areas, and not permitted in the pool areas.

Direct beach access
You walk out the back of the resort onto the sand. No driving to a public access point, no hunting for parking, no watching the clock from a hotel ten blocks inland — which matters in summer, when City of Myrtle Beach rules put dogs on the beach before 10:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. only, May 1 through Labor Day. An on-site potty area
For the last-minute trips at 11 p.m. that don’t warrant a beach walk.
A groomer and day care downstairs
FURology Paw Spa & Retreat operates on the ground level of the resort: full grooming packages, nail trims, dental care, short-term day care, organic treats and toys. Book them for the middle of the day, when the beach is closed to dogs anyway and the family wants to hit the attractions. Call (843) 580-3647.
Questions we get before booking
Do you have a weight limit?
Yes — 40 lbs. per dog, two dogs maximum. It’s a firm limit, so if your dog is close to the line, call us at 800-995-7263 before you book.
Can I leave my dog in the room while we go out?
We recommend a pet carrier for any time your dog is unattended in the room. For longer stretches, FURology’s short-term day care downstairs is the better answer.
Are the pet-friendly rooms different from the others?
Same room types, same oceanfront building. What’s different is placement: pet-friendly units are grouped on designated floors rather than scattered through the property.
Is there anywhere on the property my dog can’t go?
The pool areas, indoor and outdoor. Everywhere else, on a leash.
What’s the fee for two dogs on a week-long stay?
$25 per day, per pet — so two dogs for seven nights is $350 in pet fees on top of the room. Every question we get about the policy is answered on our pet policy FAQ.
Plan the trip
Off-season is our favorite time for a dog-friendly stay: the beach is open to dogs all day from the day after Labor Day through April 30, the sand isn’t hot enough to hurt paws, and rates drop. Summer works too — you just plan around the morning and evening windows, which are the best times to be out there anyway.
